Stuff Bob thinks is cool #12

This is taken from the film, Monterey Pop, by D.A. Pennebaker. Released in 1968, the film documents the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival which brought the first major American performances by the Jimi Hendrix Experience, The Who, and Ravi Shankar. There are a number of great performances included in the film, but the stand-out to me was Ravi Shankar. I love seeing the sheer joy on the audience’s faces towards the end. They looked so moved and just so happy to be there. It makes me smile every time. Ravi is joined by tambura player, Kamala Chakravarty, and tabla player, Alla Rakha.
